Private and Semi-Private Lessons
Our most popular and effective program, private lessons are taught on a one-to-one student/instructor ratio. The foremost goal is to teach students how to save themselves if they should fall into the water. Students develop a one-on-one relationship with instructors creating an atmosphere of trust that makes learning more effective. Semi-private lessons are great for families or friends that have two children around the same age and skill level who want to learn together. The instructor works at the pace of both children, guiding them through the progression of safety levels.
Mommy and Me
This program puts Mom or Dad in the water with their infant as early as six months. Parents will be trained to support and move their children through the water safely. This is also the time to become comfortable in the water and avoid the fear that can develop as children age.
Early swim instruction is a good idea for a variety of reasons, but the most important is safety. Our Valley is home to a large concentration of houses with swimming pools; if you do not have one, a friend or family member does. The sooner a child learns the basics of water safety, such as recovery to a vertical position after entering the water, floating without support and returning to the wall, the safer that child will be.
Swim Team
The Desert Swim Academy swim team competes through USA Swimming, the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming in the United States. This organization promotes the culture of swimming in the U.S. and its membership is comprised of swimmers from the age group level to the Olympic Team. USA Swimming is responsible for selecting and training teams for international competition including the Olympic Games. Desert Swim Academy swim team focuses on learning to swim with other students while building teamwork, stroke development and confidence. Swimmers will increase strength, speed, endurance, and stamina. Competing in USA Swimming swim meets in optional.
Swim Team meets in three groups, beginner, intermediate and advanced. Beginner meets once a week, Wednesday from 4 pm to 4:45 pm. Intermediate meets once a week on Wednesday, from 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm. Advanced meets twice a week on Monday and Thursday, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Students must have their own swim caps and goggles. We do not offer make-up classes for swim team. Our instructors are waiting for your child each week, and if he or she is unable to attend, then we look forward to seeing them at the next scheduled class. Consistency is one of the keys to our program.

Private Lifeguard Services
Life in the beautiful Coachella Valley means life around a pool. It is natural to assume that we will be using our beautiful weather and swimming pools as the setting for parties and family gatherings. When children are present, however, a pool party can become a very stressful event. Desert Swim Academy provides lifeguards trained in First Aid and CPR to safeguard your family and friends as they enjoy your pool, while you relax and enjoy piece of mind.
